Full Body
A typical session of this massage includes work on almost every essential parts of your body. Excluding the parts near your genitals (for both male and female patients) and breasts (for female patients), the massage will be applied on your head, neck, back, arms, hands, legs, feet and shoulders. Depending on your needs, you can ask your therapist to focus on a specific part during your session.
Sports
The particulars of this massage is specific to the athlete’s sport of choice. This kind of massage was originally designed to help athletes prepare for their bodies for optimal performance or recovery. It emphasizes prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons.
Remedial
Remedial Massage is a treatment oriented therapy which involves assessment and treatment of injuries and musculoskeletal conditions that are commonly cause by stress. This treatment helps alleviate pain, increase circulation and facilitate recovery after an injury. When we say treatment of musculoskeletal conditions, it includes treating the muscles, fascia, ligaments and tendons. These tissues are prone to overstretching, shortening and overloading which can result to ache and pain.
Deep Tissue
This massage focuses on realigning deep layers of muscles and fascia. It is usually applied to release chronic muscle tension. According to a study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, those who had a single 45 to 60 minutes deep tissue massage therapy gained a lower blood pressure. Your therapist we’ll have to assess your condition if this massage can be beneficial to you.
Relaxation
This kind of massage is intended only to soothe and relax you, not to relieve chronic pain. It involves long smooth gliding strokes that are rhythmic and flowing which comes with pressure that is deeply relaxing but not relatively painful.
Lymphatic Drainage
This massage is intended to specifically help the natural drainage of lymph which carries waste products away from the tissues back toward the heart. This massage originated in Germany to help treat lymphedema (an accumulation of fluid when the lymph nodes are removed during surgery).
Hot Stone
A classic massage therapy that involves the use of heated smooth, flat stones that are placed on key points on the body. This massage helps in treating health conditions such as back pain, poor circulation, arthritis, osteoarthritis, stress, anxiety, tension, insomnia and depression.
Trigger Point
This therapy help manage and treat pain that occurred at the trigger points or muscle knots in the body. These points are very tender spot in the body, often isolated area within a particular group of muscles, which will cause soothing pain in other areas of the body when stimulated.
